Mescaline Workshop in Barcelona

In collaboration with l’ull cec we are offering a hands-on seminar at Hangar in Barcelona during the weekend 19/20/21 of November 2010.

We will cover the following topics:

Audio feature extraction and segmentation
Data-driven sound synthesis
Hands-on work with Mescaline, our data-driven sequencer and synthesizer
Introduction of a pattern language for sequencing and sound synthesis

During the workshop we will employ the open-source tools SuperCollider, Haskell and Meapsoft.

Music Hack Day 2010 in Barcelona

Last weekend the Music Hack Day took place for the first time in Barcelona, organized by the nice people from the MTG. Although slightly out of the hack day context—which focuses on development of small applications utilizing mostly proprietary web APIs—we had a great time hacking on Mescaline, implementing some user interface improvements (yes, regions are movable and resizable now ) and other features (such as the beginnings of a MacOS X application bundle).

SuperCollider Symposium 2010

Back from the SuperCollider Symposium 2010 in Berlin, where we presented our work on Mescaline and the current state of affairs. We got some interesting comments and suggestions and took these as an encouragement to keep on working!
